Jackie Mitchson, Associate, Bullivant Houser Bailey
Jackie Mitchson joins the Insurance Law Group as an associate where she brings both private business and judicial clerk experience to the firm. Prior to joining Bullivant, she was a Judicial Clerk for Judge Charles D. Carlson of the Lane County Circuit Court where she conducted research and wrote memoranda on issues on the civil motions docket. She drafted orders, opinions, and judgments in civil and domestic relations cases. In business and public affairs, she has worked for municipalities and private management.
Her educational background is a rich one and spans business administration, political science, the law and hospitality. Her law school experience included work with several organizations at the University of Oregon including, the managing board of the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation, Vice President of Marketing of Green Business Initiative Student Association, and membership on the School of Law Diversity Committee.
To gain broader exposure, she studied overseas at the Cesar Ritz Colleges in Switzerland where her business administration studies were flavored with the school's emphasis on hospitality and hotel management. She has kept those interests alive in her love of cooking, gardening and, as time allows, the mastery of sourdough bread baking. Her love of food goes beyond her own personal interests. She has volunteered with Oregon Food Bank and the Food for Lane County, Food Rescue Express.
