After graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Honours Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor, Jon joined the insurance industry as an adjuster trainee handling Auto Physical Damage and Accident Benefit Claims.
Upon relocating to Toronto, Jon joined The Personal Insurance Company where he further honed his skills as a Customer Service Representative, Corporate Trainer, and Claims Supervisor. Following the Personal’s acquisition by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Jon held the role of National Claims Training Consultant during which he obtained his Adult Learning Certificates from the University of Toronto.
Jon joined Markel Insurance Company of Canada in June 2004 as Claims Manager prior to being promoted to Corporate Claims Director. As Director of Quality Assurance and Claims Excellence at Northbridge, he led a team of Claims Specialists in the design, development and implementation of a continuous improvement program focusing on claims delivery and quality improvements. Notable achievements include the grass roots development of the Northbridge Claims Education Centre with a course catalogue of nearly 40 courses, claims leakage reduction of more than 4%, and a 14% increase in overall Adjuster skill level.
As National Vice President, Claims Experience and Quality, Jon leads a team of Claims Professionals focusing on continuous improvement programs, vendor selection and management, process and compliance, system development, and the implementation of innovative claims solutions.
